Mentors/Inspiration&Influences
The list to follow is a Highly respected line up of great minds. Spanning many disciplines many different ages and all incredibly unique. My word of wisdom to anyone, would be to do the necessary research on each of the following people, and hopefully you can find a little more light for your journey! Thanks! Hope y'all enjoy!
Tim Ferriss-
Starting here and always reflecting back to Tim’s platforms. Ive been listening to Tim’s podcasts, and reading his books for who knows how long. I honestly cant remember when I first came across Tim; however I wanna say that my good friend Rob mentioned his podcast or something, and from day one I was hooked. His interviews with brilliant people, along with his studies approach to questions and how they work to intern help uncover incredibly helpful tips to increasing ones self awareness and drive. Early on into the many great podcasts, I ended up getting his book ‘The 4 Hour Workweek”, and quickly got his books that followed after as they were being produced. Im a student of Tim’s work and wisdom, and continually listed to the podcast and read his books. I also refer to his list of interviewees a lot to see if this “new name” has crossed his paths. So if all you take from this list is 1 name, Id say have it be Tim Ferriss, the grab a note pad! Hope I can shake your hand one day!
Jocko Willink-
I have not been apart of any armed forces, but have always respect the soldiers. I had talked to recruiters in the past and had things in motion to be apart of the armed forces, but eventually ended up being just another civilian worker bee. Still to this day I make sure to step out of my way if I have to to thank every active soldier and veteran for their service; so when I heard of Jocko. I was stoked to here his contribution to help strenthin his fellow man. I heard of Jock on a Tim Ferriss podcast. His stories from his time in the armed forces had me awe struck. His moto “discipline equals freedom” all the way to his 1st book “Extreme Ownership” were 100% inline with my mindset at the time I heard this, but the way Jocko puts things together absolutely solidified my thoughts about the path I had found myself on, and I was very happy to know that I could easily find Jocko teaching to help me in so many ways. He opened my eyes to Leadership and how it may be a role I may need to consider, along with things I should expect and ways to handle. And the big one is health. Jocko is a black belt in Ju-Jitsu, and the way it has helped keep him healthy and sharp witted in the game of life, greatly encouraged me to take as much control of my health and activeness as well as try to inspire others. And from here, anything I say would do little to no justice, but he'd be the first person to if you looking for a coach! Don't be too afraid when you go research Jocko, he's on our team! Semper Fi
Dr. Eric Thomas-
Say Hello to the Hip-Hop preacher! Eric is a boss! And a Phd. He is a pastor, so be prepared to interact! I Love Eric’s style, out of all these great minds, Eric actually says he's a motivational speaker, but I promise that is an incredible understatement. Im not ‘religious’ but dude is a saint. From Detroit and fighting through tough times, he made his path and is bringing so much value to men, women, kids, and elders in an incredibly heart warming and down to earth way. Eric’s energy helps me kick start any task and makes me feel like anything is possible. I have been ‘following’ Eric for many years now, but still have yet to read his book. There is a good amount of content from him online the I greatly hope one researches, but definitely support his movement! His speeches are Moving!
Gary Vaynerchuck-
I just found out about Gary about a year ago. Out of all the work I do on working on my brand, I came across one of Gary V’s 10 second clip, saying something along the lines of “it don’t matter how early you wake up, was matters is what you do while you awake” for the most part, but the thing with Gary is his colorful language; Somehow he managed to half cus you out and still fully get you up and attentive to what he was saying. I was blown away and I absolutely loved it! Pure passion. When I hear Gary Vee, I feel truly like he wants me to win. I have never heard anyone break down steps, concepts, and techniques so clear. I honestly can say I believe his mission 100% on bringing value to his audience. Thank you Gary!
Nino Brown-
GRAAPPPEEE!! Hip Hop emcee Nino Brown! Motivational rapper. His clips on instagram caught my attention. He walking on the streets at night talking about how he making his way in the game, passing out $100 bills to all the homeless people on the strip he was at. Not just once, but regularly; and it was genuine. So doing my research on Nino I end up really resection his mission. Not only does he have inspiring and motivational music that teaches a lot. He also has albums where he is specifically breaking down incredibly helpful information in growth, not just as a person, but as an artist and a business mind. I have studied many hours of Nino and am a big fan. Dope unique style of motivation, but absolutely perfect! Please check out Nino!
